Mercedes is a street racing legend and the number one racer in the state of Raymond. Operations are running smoothly until one of the high ranking racers, Bronze, dies in an accident at the infamous Suicide Road. Seven months later, Bronze is replaced by Taboo, the man Bronze had been racing when he crashed. Bronze's death set in motion Mercedes' meticulously managed street racing world cracking apart. His name is added to the Top Ten FBI's Most Wanted list on the coattails of a historical presidential election. Nothing can stop the empire from crashing and burning as Taboo begins to make the climb from Number Seven to Number One.

Told from Mercedes' perspective and several other racers connected to Bronze, the street racing crew must uncover the truth about what really happened the night Bronze died and Taboo's involvement in those events. Bronze's girlfriend, Stefanie, could be the key to it all but no one knows where she went after the crash. The journey dredges up old memories best left forgotten and a former relationship that Mercedes thought he had finally gotten over. Taboo leaves a trail of suspicious events and blood in his climb to take over the street racing empire. The winter racing events are the crew's final chance to put an end to Taboo's power play and dismantling of the crew's core. Bogged down by his addiction and police officer ex-boyfriend, Mercedes is reluctant to take action, which will send the street racing empire crashing and burning.
