"the world shows no mercy, so why should we?"

lexie keene never really fit in. no matter what part of the valley she found herself residing in, she felt out of place; like she didn't belong. her and her twin brother had that in common. when lexie and robby move in with the daniel larusso due to their mother's neglect and absence, lexie attempts to fill that hole by agreeing to go out with sam, daniel's daughter, and ultimately falls in love with her. but the poor girl's world is shattered when she catches sam and robby locking lips at the miyagi dojo one particularly emotional night. unfortunately, it wasn't long before she realized that wasn't at all her biggest problem.

she winds up clashing with her supposed dojo-oriented rival, tory nichols, and she begins to wonder whether or not her philosophies have been put to an unrealistic expectation.
