Way had arrived at the bottom. He had not much to do down there except ruin himself and his life. So he took the first chance to get better. Not having ended his life turned out to be a blessing and his previous downfall helped him turn his life around. Being himself used to be a burden and he didn't really know how to live outside of addiction and self destructive behaviour. Having these new friends should help him. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient.
