Chance Colt was living his best life as professional baseball player. That all came crashing down after he was in a car accident last year. As he was recovering from his injuries, he had to watch a rookie find success in his position. After a hard fought battle in spring training, he lost his position to that rookie. Now he's stuck watching his team from the bench and he can't even hit the baseball.

Lacey Lane is a familiar face in Chance's past and comes back in with more determination that ever to stay there. She strongly believes that they belong together and desperately wants Chance to give them a shot. She leaves Chance conflicted more than ever what direction his life is going in. He finds himself clinging to the sport he's dedicated his life to and tempted by the girl he has always turned down.
