Skye is a 18 year old girl with a difficult past. No one really seems to understand her and often say she's unpredictable. After she was rescued by Lennox she was taken to the base to recover and now works as a front liner. A job she takes very serious and gets injured almost every time. This creates tension at N.E.S.T. 

Skye is determined that she's not going to stop what she is doing and that if Lennox keeps her off the battlefield she'll leave and goes to another base. Although, Lennox knows that it won't be that easy, especially since she's so young and most people do not want to take in a teenager. 

When Sunstreaker arrives on earth, he's told to keep an eye on her. Instead, he tries to boss her around. This creates even more tension when Skylar's truth comes to the light about what happened to her family and where she comes from, she's not sure if she wants continue what she has been doing all her life... fighting.
