Kuria Saren is tired. Tired of drifting, tired of running, tired of playing second fiddle. At one of her lowest points, she receives an offer from her old employer: The enigmatic Office of Secret Intelligence.

Technology powerful enough to anchor and distort reality itself is being stolen in neutral space by an unknown entity, and she is activated to put a stop to it, but it's not a job she can take on alone, and when she discovers a bounty placed on an old friend she decides to take a detour and cash in a favor.

Meanwhile, a force from the criminal underground gathers a broken people under the banner of bloody monarchy, seeking to arm themselves with the ability to assert themselves on the galactic stage.

It shall become a genre unto itself. A story of love and death in a fractured galaxy after the destruction of an oppressive institution, where Kings, Criminals, and Assassins are all players.

A "Spectralverse" Story.

An ordinary young man living an ordinary life finds his society crumbling apart at the seams due to an ever-intensifying plague of insurrection that seems to spread faster than it can be quelled. After joining the Marines to make a difference, to bring stability to his society, he soon realizes that he's no more than a minuscule cog in a very large machine. Harvest. A major farming colony at the edge of UNSC-controlled space goes offline. Just as Gray thinks he'll coast out his short-term service in the Corps, tragedy strikes, and a new player enters the field. But fate and her parents had other plans and Mori now works as an accountant with her dreams of being a pro gamer long since buried. Games like SniperX are old relics in the face of virtual reality tech and their latest gem, Facing Fear--a simulation designed to analyze the psyche of its players and adapt itself accordingly, creating a safe terrain for players to take risks and discover themselves. Until FEAR, the AI governing the virtual world of Valor, decides the thing humanity fears most is death. Despite the rising death toll and Facing Fear closing its doors, when Mori discovers her sister Shiori is trapped in the game, she does the unthinkable. She goes in after her.
