Cupid's Mistake

All my life, I have longed for but one thing - to live a life of peace and simplicity.

That longing grew ever stronger upon the arrival of a man who, with his presence, cast brilliant hues upon a tale once stripped of beauty and joy.

Yet, as the fates are ever fickle, a day came when all was abruptly altered.

It was as though the wheel of my journey was wrenched from its course and turned toward a road of stone - one cold, bleak, and shrouded in darkness.

Even so, never did I foresee that upon such an uncertain path, I would encounter a soul who would rekindle the dying flame within a light once faded.

In time, I came to know kindred spirits - companions who became my guides, and artists who painted smiles upon my lips once more.

Oh, how joyous were those days, how unburdened the heart! But I ask - for how long?

To what distance shall their light endure?

How far shall this road stretch before me?

And is there truly an end to this voyage that destiny, in her silent wisdom, has chosen for me?
