Ulani has lived her whole life in a Caelli Orphan School. To outsiders it looks like a safe haven, but on the inside, it is more like a jail.
All the orphans have special abilities, as they are part of one of three races on the planet of Simerasia. Ulani has trained her whole life along side her fellow orphans to learn to control her powers, and the moment she turns sixteen she will be sent out to fight covens of Vampires. She knows the truth, none of the orphans survive. These caelli orphans are going to be thrown out to war unprepared, but Ulani plans to stop it all.
Before her plans can unravel she begins to learn that her life will be far more complicated than she ever knew. Ulani's whole life has been controlled, each moment planned out. The truth she learns will shatter her and force her to question each person she has ever cared about.
She has to ask herself, since love always ends in loss, is there really any point in fighting for it?
