Back in the day, UA was the place to be if you wanted to make a difference or be the difference. Akiko Sono only applied once her sister, Ayiko Sono urged her to follow suit.
Following the father's death, Akiko applied to academic opportunities in America. And upon returning home 10 years later, applied to become a teacher for UA alongside her sister. The twins being the cloaked duo with Quirks that compliment well with one another, it's only a matter of time till people take notice on the new teachers and who she really is.
