When former foster kid Adrianna sets out to enjoy the last summer with her adopted sisters before the oldest leaves for college, the last thing she expects is to find the man who knew their parents. Nor did they expect to learn their parents were part-alien from a system of planets known as the Diamond Realms, nor that each has the power to communicate with and control the natural elements.

Danger looms from an alien threat that seeks to abuse their power, so the trio and two other girls with similar pasts join with their parent's people to escape across the galaxy to their parents' home planet Almnerixi. While her friends grapple with the responsibility of appearing as the mystical and beneficent Protectors to the people of the Diamond Realms, Adrianna struggles to balance her concept of family and herself with the feeling that she is falling further down the path of the prophesized Destroyer of magic and unity in the Realms.

Seventeen-year-old Lucy Owens is struggling. It's been two years since the death of her parents, but she just can't seem to get a handle on life without them. After her Aunt moved Lucy and her twin brother, Jared to a new town, Lucy thought that maybe things would get better - and they did, for the most part, but her crippling anxiety and the constant feeling that she just doesn't quite fit in have left her in a rut. That is, until two new families move into town. With their arrival comes the unveiling of a family secret that will change Lucy's world, forever. She is an Empath - the strongest and most powerful her family has seen in generations. Now she must learn to harness her new-found power, overcome her anxiety, and find the strength to lead her group of friends as they embark on a journey to return their families to the place they really belong. Their true home - Eleos. Will Lucy have the courage to take on the role of a leader? Or will her fear win the battle, costing not only her life, but the lives of those she loves most? This is a story about friendship and family, and the simple truth that sometimes, all the strength you need is in the hearts of those that stand beside you.
