50 years ago the government decided that every year, 10 chosen teenagers ages 16-18 are assigned a dorm room for a school called "artica". by choosing these 10 teens, they can properly experiment and see how teens develop differently than teens who are thrown into high school unmonitored. the teens are always under 24 hour surveillance , and have very strict curfew times. everything that they do is monitored...everything. for privacy & "scientific" reasons, the teens are not allowed to see their parents. other than a weekly worldwide , live broadcasted video call.
they are not allowed to room with anyone but can socialize with friends during certain times of the day, strictly speaking educational conversations, but they never follow the rules anyways.
when 1 of the teens finally turn 17, he or she is sent to a weekend trip with government officials. they get to choose a celebrity to sponsor them and be there guardian for the real world after "school" . you have to be lucky and make sure your celebrity sponsor accepts the offer.
most kids spend their entire life preparing to be chosen, and deciding on how they are going to be good enough for their sponsor. a good sponsor guides them into the career and future lifestyle that the teen is striving for. a fast pass to life, in a way.
though willow , a 17 year old girl at artica's was not prepared at all for this lonely life. join her into finally escaping her horrible life at school, and possibly finding the love and happiness that she deserves.
