Addalynn doesn't mind being the town witch. The rumors of her "gift" keep the religious gossip-mongers at a distance, and with her parents gone, it's best for Addalynn if no one tries to get too close. As long as things remain as they are, Addalynn is content to live in her parent's home with her sarcastic familiar, Makena, and watch sunsets fall on her prized snapdragon garden.
Elladine feels that something is missing. Her father's incessant concern for the "state of her soul" has pushed her away from the Home, and her mother's increasing passivity has only encouraged her distrust of anyone human. But neither of these things is the missing link, and Elladine can't wait for the day when she can leave her home forever.
When ancient spirits appear in the nearby forest, Addalynn and Elladine must work together to protect the town from impending invasion. But a mysterious stranger also arrives, looking for any reason to commit Addalynn to his asylum. The unlikely pair have no choice but to unite and save their home. Told from alternating perspectives, STORIES confronts the human fear of insignificance while embracing love that grows like snapdragons in the winter - unexpectedly, defiantly, magically. Wednesday lived most of her life not caring about coincidences because she didn't have to after all coincidences was nothing she can't handle but when she gets sent to Nevermore and became roommates with a very colorful werewolf and has to deal with her adhd best friend who is a DRAGON?!?? Maybe she should have just gave Jacob a wedgie. Enid has always tried to keep optimism no matter what she's dealing with. That's mainly because she's secretly weeping about not being able to wolf out yet. Not being able to wolf out means she can't find her soulmate and no soulmate means she'll die all alone. Well maybe not all alone since her best friend is dealing with the same situation. She has already developed a small crush on her so maybe it won't be that bad. Grinnly is unlike most of her kind mostly because she hasn't been able to turn into her dragon form what she's hiding is that she'll never be able to because of the type of dragon she is. (Which is something only Enid know) she doesn't have that intimidating nature of other dragons. Hint on why they call her Smiley. She's mostly always happy and has an affect on people that makes them love being around her. Though she does have those days where she gets upset about not finding her soulmate yet. But hey she found Enid and now Wednesday maybe they can be platonic soulmates?
