It's all gone.
The electricity.
The internet.
At first it's nothing. Just a few blackouts here and there.
But after a week people see that it's more. The gas stations can't provide them with gas.
The grocery store can't contact their food providers.
The schools are dark.
The TVs shows a message, and a terrifying one at that.
The government turned it all off, just to study them all.
But they'll turn it all on. For one simple cost.
They give out a list of names.
A list of names that are people too.
And, of course, those people are our story.

People panicked and tried to survive for as long as they could. Some made it out of cities the others stayed. Our government fell and militias took control. The Monroe militia took over. Then one day he found electricity again. He used it for bad and soon conquered the whole world. Years later our world now runs on electricity again. There will only be one survivor and one survivor alone. The rules of the game are; Kill or be killed. You will be let into a room. And in that room somebody will die. You can pick who that person is by killing them yourselves or you can wait until the lights go out at a random time. By the time they come back on somebody will have died.
