Kaori is a 19 year old student at To-Oh University she has been friends with Light since they were children, but he starts to act strange and Kaori is worried that he has become the killer Kira. She starts digging around into the cases of both "Kira" and the renowned detective "L".
(I am reading the manga and watching the anime at the same time as writing this to make it run fairly smoothly along side death note but there will likely be some big changes in storyline much later on)
