Star Alabama-Simpleton has never been a singer - but a writer. And nothing will change that about her. Not everyone's expectations of her to be an angel, not her extremely talented musical friends, or even her parents being the most popular singers of all time.

It's not like she hasn't tried - Jake and Hailey have always tried to teach her, but their attempts did nothing. Star still sounded terrible.

But how can Star care about that when she can immerse herself in her own world of writing? Let the words fly around her as character descriptions jump out of the pages, build her own world and a perfect story... She can't help it - it's like her head is narrating every move she makes.

But all this changes when she meets Laura Willow, and finds an ancient book. Perhaps her writer's sense has carried her too far, because her new, written destiny is not something to be proud of.
