When she's not at parties getting wasted and high from god knows what you possibly can get high from, she skipping school, sleeping in. She was a good girl, but her parents abused her so much she gave up trying to make them proud. 

 No, they didn't hit her, just mentally abused her, telling her she was fat, stupid, ugly, and  that can fuck up a person. 

I guess you could just say she has issues.
