Found abandoned in the woods as a baby, Cate Donovan grows up in a Chicago home for children. Cursed with unnatural beauty, she tries to hide her appearance beneath baggy clothes and stoic expressions. She dreams of turning eighteen and leaving the city for a quiet life somewhere she will be left alone. One night Cate is attacked, and an unexplained phenomenon saves her and puts her attacker in the hospital. Cate becomes the center of media attention and flees the city, desperate to put distance between her past and her future, and ends up on the East coast. But strange things start happening, threatening the quiet life she is trying to build. When a mysterious local woman shows up on Cate's doorstep, claiming she can help by using magic, Cate is skeptical. But she soon sees that the woman is telling the truth, and that there is an entire realm of magic hidden within the human world. A realm that not only holds the answers to what's happening, but the truth about Cate and where she really came from. Between the forests of Maine and the cliffs of Ireland, Cate is introduced to a realm of magical creatures from warlocks to mermaids. She searches for answers regarding her magic and her past -- while trying to keep them both from killing her.

A fairy godmother internship is just what Noelle needs to escape her family's pumpkin business . . . until she starts to question her own happily-ever-after. Perfect for fans of The Princess Diaries or Ella Enchanted! * * * Noelle Simpkins is sick of working for her parents. Sure, her dad runs a booming pumpkin business and her mom's the greatest shoemaker in the land. But pumps and pumpkins get OLD after a while, and she's ready to see more of the world. When she hears about a fairy godmother internship in the city, she jumps on it. The goal? Make sure royal clients get happily-ever-afters . . . all while battling goblins, curing curses, and figuring out how to use a magic wand. Not to mention shutting down a rival godmother and avoiding Kit, a distractingly cute guy who sells pie and keeps turning up. But as exciting as her new gig is, Noelle is surprised when she realizes . . . she kind of misses making shoes and growing pumpkins. Has she gotten closer to her own happily-ever-after, or farther away? And when the glass shoe's on the other foot, can she stay true to her heart?
