Kehlani has been an underdog all her life, looked down on and despised by both her parents and trainers. With a mother who expects nothing less then perfection, Kehlani is constantly fighting to meet her expectations and standards. Riding used to be her escape, but it becomes yet another form of imprisonment once her mother has her start riding at SJVHC, a broken down barn out in the middle of nowhere. But one show might just turn it all around when a world-champion reiner notices Kehlani's potential and offers her a spot on the advanced reining team at a prestigious high school for Western riders. But there are two problems, her mom thinks that riding is just a waste of time and doesn't want her to go, and Elias has been offered a spot on the team as well. Will Kehlani be able to stay on for this new and bumpy ride? Or will she get bucked off and land face-first in a pile of shit?
