Prices of everyday necessities, from food to gas, from toilet paper to healthcare, have more than doubled. The global population now peaking near 8.5 billion. It was now considered a virtue to be hospitalized, so long as you could pay the lifelong medication payments and stay sick. Just as it seemed society was ready to kick the bucket, something viral and deadly beat it to the punch. As the people he knew turned into sick, plagued creatures of death and his world crumbles down around him, Jacob Mason must leave his life as a quiet, middle school student behind and forge ahead a new life to protect the people he loves. But this is all just the beginning of a brand new, blood splattered life for him.

A mutated strain of COVID-19 emerges, transforming the infected into flesh-eating zombies. Initially mistaken for a new pandemic wave, society is thrown into chaos as the dead begin to rise. Governments fail to contain the outbreak, leading to the collapse of civilization within weeks. A group of survivors led by a virologist, a former paramedic, a teacher, and an office worker -band together, navigating a world overrun by the undead and battling hostile human factions. The virologist believes a cure might exist, but to find it, they must venture into an infested city to recover lost research. Facing dangers from all sides, the group must decide whether to risk everything for a potential cure or focus solely on survival in a world where the virus has taken over.
