Being a member of the ANBU Black Opps means completing the mission you are given no matter what...
Killing an enemy
Leaving a comrade behind
Abandoning my rank
Changing their personality
Killing a comrade
Betraying their village
People will yell, attack, criticize, abandon, and punish them for doing their job. They could be keeping important secrets from the one's the deserve to know. The only thing they have to do is make sure both the mission and the client is out of harms way.
What they lose doesn't matter.
What they gain doesn't matter.
How they feel doesn't matter.
The pain doesn't matter.
The only thing that matters is completing the mission with no mistakes.
Some were born, raised, to become apart of the Anbu. They may look perfectly fine on the out side but make no mistake, they all lost something. It doesn't matter what the personal circumstances are, all of them have lost something important. For example, their own sanity. Now let me ask you this, do you think a child, not much older than a 10 year old, could survive is a world where even adults become mad?

The bandages that covered his face in life have fallen away, all incinerated and hanging loosely around his neck. His face is completely destroyed. Unrecognizable. The skin covering his face is no longer there, all having melted away. His blood vessels have all burst, his nerves have fried along with the majority of his muscles. His jaw opens and closes a little bit. His eyes bore into me. They're large and round and completely accusing. His teeth are covered in bits of burnt muscle. I feel my heart thudding in my chest. He steps closer, closer. His bone gleams in the dim light. As he closes in on me, a pounding noise begins ringing through my ears. My heart beat- ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. It looked like he had been tossed into a fryer, fried alive, and he had been. By me. I did this to someone. I killed someone's team mate, someone's son. I killed someone's important person. -- Kimiko Kioku, a memory keeper. Never forgets anything, always notices, from the exact way the wind blew her hair against her face to coloring with her brother at five to the lullaby her mother would sing to her as she rocked her when she was not even a year old. She remembers. She remembers the blood, the glassy, clouded over eyes her brother had as he said his last words. She remembers the very first person she killed. She remembers how abandoned she feels, and how everything always feels like it's falling apart at the seams. (Can you say 'worst summary ever to exist'? Okay, maybe not that bad. But still pretty bad.)

What is a Shinobi? Misaki often finds herself questioning that. From a small village, she had no choice but to become a ninja. Her leader needed her skills... but she wanted nothing more than to lead a normal life. Ninja from her small village die on missions and when she requests a leave, she's sent out of the village instead. How will she do when she is assigned a mission to Konoha? Will a certain ANBU change her mind about the Shinobi world, in spite of his own hatred for this life as well? What will happen when a strange figure saves Misaki's life then offers her a deal down a dark, unknown path? 《★☆★☆★》 ≪This story explores the world of Naruto, starting just before his birth. Drawing parallels from Kakashi's life to Misaki's, it narrows in on friendship, confusion, betrayal, hatred, and what it truly means to be a Shinobi.≫ 『Excerpt from the story:』 "...what does it mean to be a Shinobi in this village? Just to die... be killed without reason. It's all so pointless." His eyes shimmer with pain. I know the look as I have seen it on myself in the mirror. His voice has lost its lazy monotone and is spiked with emotion I never thought the ANBU was capable of. "Ninja don't die for no reason... they live to die for the ones they care about... to protect their village and-" the last word is barely audible, "-comrades." He leaves without another word, sliding his ANBU mask on and disappearing into the night air. Had I said something wrong? 《★☆★☆★》

Secrets? There's so much power a secret holds. When you know something that somebody else doesn't and they are just SO desperate to know, as well. Sharing that secret with another person has it's ups and downs. One could crack. But it's also more fun when you see that they don't and the one kept in the dark is getting more frustrated. Ya feel? This was so much more than a simple secret. I knew that. I'm not the moron people assume I am. Just because he wanted to know it, though, didn't mean I was going to tell him. If I was going to be stuck in here, bored, the least he owes me is keeping me entertained. And then he can know. ~~~ I do not own the characters, but the story line in general is mine. I also don't own the individual pictures of whatever cover I put up later, just the finished design. ~~~~ Enjoy, loves
