Sometimes running from the past is the only way to stay alive...

Maya Caddo had a history of running. When the going got tough, she ran like the wind. A life of loss had ingrained that lesson into her. Yet when the deaths of her Uncle and Aunt in her old hometown causes her cousin to beg her to come home and help settle old familiar disputes, will she be able to refind her roots and stop running?

Maya knows she is the only member of her family who is potentially strong enough to withstand the storm that is coming. Coming face to face with her past could break her or kill her. Would she be able to stand firm for those she loved? Or would she kick tail and run as she always had in the past?

Sometimes you have to run toward the past to change the future.

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
