Scars is about a Jamaican American girl named Jocelyn, who was a survivor of a fire that took place in her home. Due to the fact that she was in a fire she had to suffer through bullying because of the scars that were on her body, when she was younger she'd have to wear long sleeves and pants all year around otherwise she'd be the cause of screaming children running to their parents in fear. As she got older things didn't get any better, she still got bullied especially in high school where she had to wear short sleeves and shorts and get undressed in front of the girls in the locker room. Jocelyn was very depressed she had no one to go to since she only lived by herself, her parents both died in the accident and her foster parents stopped caring for her as she got older because they were too overwhelmed with taking care of her. That was before she met Henry, a young Fillipino boy that would soon change every way she saw herself.
