Ever since he met the alien wanderer/schoolteacher called the Doctor, fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari's life has only gotten crazier by the day. With the Doctor's help, he's survived getting press-ganged as a child soldier in a war for humanity's survival, alien invasions, zombie attacks, fourth-dimensional tactics, the origin of all life on Earth, and even the wrath of his fellow pilot Asuka. His newfound enjoyment of his life may not last for long, however, as the Doctor continues to probe the dark secrets at the heart of the paramilitary organization NERV.
