Aspen Laurens is the first daughter of the wealthy plantation owner and president of continental congress. She's smart and kind and very patriotic. When the Revolutionary war starts, she insists on helping anyway she can, from making new uniforms for the continental soldiers to passing out food in the winter encampments. As well as helping the soldiers, she tries to help her older brother John in anyway she can. This includes scolding him for his reckless tendencies. It's her job to do it since their mother passed when she was 14. she does her best to take care of her family and herself.
