I started a blog a few years ago hoping to rekindle some kind of a flame for the classic comedy stories that inspired me. Authors like Erma Bombeck, Dave Barry, and Southern story teller, Lewis Grizzard were heroes of mine and it seems that while due to the digital age, the likes of them may have floated downstream in paper boats made of the newspapers that carried them, there are still plenty of stories to tell.
Unfortunately, not many ended up reading my own stories in the blog, although the ones that did swore they loved the style, so I tried another approach ... a podcast. One friend told me that they would love to hear me actually tell my stories in my own voice.
Unfortunately, not many listen to the podcast.
So I'm trying one more thing because as I explain in one article, writers write. It's what we do and readers or not - listeners or not - the stories keep coming and I have to do SOMETHING with the little snots.
The podcast still exists and I'll attach a link for each episode that corresponds to each story I post here. There are already enough stories to complete over three volumes, so these compilations will only remain here free until I have them ready for self-publication.

We have grown up in the reality that our parents should not be together. Our father had a lot of problems that our mom had covered up, or at least had tried to when we were growing up. My twin brother and I vowed if we ever met the right girl or girls we wouldn't treat her/them like our father treated our mother and we definitely would never get married. Then we met her and we knew we had to protect what was ours: Charlene Our family was unorthodox it was a joke. Mom had finally left our father after years of mental abuse and we learnt we had an aunt who was young enough to be our sister, but what we didn't know was that we had two uncles to the same age as Charlene our angel. They were devils in disguise wanting revenge for an accident that killed their mother and hers, though she had nothing to do with it. We took her under our protection but it wasn't enough they found her and made sure that she would pay for her sins even if their weren't any. Chester, and Henley were the brothers of my father, our sperm donor and the bane of our existence. Mom had finally got away from that despicable man and into the arms of another. Trying so hard to do the right thing by all of us we vowed to keep Charlene safe and with us, but that didn't stop them it never stopped them. Who will fall first and who will fail in the claws of love and hate?

Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. Weigh Out Way-In
There is an unexpected turn in the story that drastically changes the course of events and, in the long run, even the lives of those involved. Magpie, the first to be involved, suddenly finds himself in the world so unlike his own. Will he find his place there or will he be at least able to go back home? He seems to find his way back from this new world of giga-dimensions but something unwanted happens, and things go worse. The cultural differences, together with a challenging personality traits of another involved in the events, suck Magpie and his friends into a downward spiral. The story challenges you to see the world differently from the perspective you are perhaps too used to and narrowed by. Life can be an adventure if you don't narrow it with a bigotry that forces you to be rooted in your trenches and behind your dividing walls. This doesn't mean you have to accept others' views without standing your ground. However, to be able to share our lives in this one and only world we need to make compromises, on both sides. Are you the first brave one to set this positive trend in motion? So read on and let the foundation of the story be laid. From the end of episode 1 on, the story really picks up, finally reaching its climax at the end of episode 3 with quite a surprising finish. Optimism in That 'Condition'
This is the story of many who think are alone and are left out. They feel abandoned and some are even despised. Good news; you are neither left out nor abandoned; we are in a different generation, where people have learn to embrace and love ‘us’. You are not alone in the fight; there is a great multitude in front of, at the back and beside you; so take courage. Having gone through this experience, I can testify that the people around me have really been there for me. I feel loved, especially my mum, who is my role model and my greatest inspiration. She has really molded me into being the kind of responsible person I am. I am thankful to her. So I welcome you to my adventure as an optimistic person. I believe that my story might change you and those around you. We all have one life to live and prove ourselves. We just need to step out and step up because the society needs us. Our economy needs us, the community needs us, the government needs us and the world needs us more. So we have no reason to stay in our ‘safe cocoons’. The future of our society is in our hands. It all starts with our optimism in the tough times we are experiencing. I am thankful to all those difficult people in my life; they have really shown me exactly who I do not want to be.
