NOTE: Hoowee... Uhh... You probably shouldn't read this. This is really old and... not the best piece of literature I've conceived. Still, it doesn't feel right to unpublish this. Bad as it may be, it's the first thing I ever wrote. So, this will stay here un-edited and unaltered in its pure, first form.

Jaxon has no idea who he is. He only remembers up until the point where he woke up in the night,
in a place that he assumes is where he lived, but everything before that is a blur. The only clue he has is not a very helpful one. Where his hand is supposed to be, there is just black smoke. Ever since, he has been running from place to place, in an attempt to escape the people who are pursuing him.All Rights Reserved

When Mandy loses her job, she thinks she’s hit rock bottom – until her plane is swallowed by a strange storm that sends her and everyone else on board 10,000 years into the future. At first, she thinks the scary world is nothing more than a bad dream. The war-torn Earth is unrecognizable. Black fog blocks the sun, and the oceans are dry. Even worse: the planet is inhabited by half-human, half-alien creatures dying from a mysterious disease. Horrified at the thought of spending her life here, she clings to the knowledge that there’s one man who can open the star gate to send her home. As the Naki prince who controls the star gate, Akkadi gets first choice of any human female that makes her way through the star gate. Only by breeding with purebred humans from the past can his race hope to remain immune to the disease and hopefully, develop an eventual cure. With shrinking resources and a raging battle for the human planet, dutiful, commanding Akkadi is less than thrilled at the idea of trying to figure out Mandy, a woman he views as wild with neither discipline nor respect for someone in his position. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive. I understand you're scared right now, but you have to trust me. We're going to get home safely. Stay with me a few more minutes, and then we'll get the f*ck out of here. I promise." -- A little about Ava: She has made the long move from Detroit, Michigan to California to escape her gruesome past. She moves in with her older sister, and is ready to start her junior year of high school. Despite the demons she carries, she holds onto hope for a bright future. A little about Jaxon: he's 17, and Oceanview High's resident bad boy. He comes from the Marvel family, a family of cold-hearted millionaires who don't seem to care much about their kids. Jovan's world is small and medieval. It was once ruled by the good kingdom of Esis in the south, and the evil kingdom of Krona in the north. Those kingdoms are now fifteen years gone, victims of magic that escaped the control of the mages who wielded it in a final, devastating war. Now the land of Theris is empty and scarred by plagues of magic; most of the war's survivors, people from both kingdoms, marched eastward into the endless desert in a desperate bid for a new start. They were never seen again. Jovan did not go with them; he lives quietly among a small village of survivors. Jovan also has an obsession; he has become enamored with Skyreach Keep, the seat of power of the old Dark Lords of Krona. After visiting the barren keep too many times, his village casts him out and banishes him to the endless desert. There he must find a new life, or better yet, wither and die under the scorching sun. Jovan marches east, but he does not die. He comes across a small building, filled with technology which is thousands of years ahead of his own. The people who work there speak a foreign yet strangely familiar language; it sounds ever so slightly like the dark tongue of Krona, the language of the enemy. But these strange people know where Jovan comes from, and they understand his language. They are, after all, his descendants, and they trace their ancestors back thousands of years... to an exodus which for Jovan is only fifteen years past. Jovan has walked out of the desert and into the future. And something evil has followed him.
