For these high schoolers, turning 18 is much more than just becoming an adult. Once they reach 18 people obtain their spirit animals which corresponds with heritage and personality. Depending on how weak someone is both mentally and physically determines how their spirit animal presence itself. If you are strong in both ways, on your 18th birthday you gain the ability to transform, or shift, into your spirit animal. However, if you aren't strong enough to support transformation, a little piece of your soul chips off and becomes your spirit animal. They then, will follow you around and try their best warn you of any possible danger.
On their 18th birthdays both Quinn and Jet find their spirit guides aren't quite what they expected. Life goes on as normal, until Quinn accidentally sketches a small sleeping snake. Jet soon realized that Quinn is much more than just a class mate. But will Quinn feel the same? And is there more to Quinn than what's on the surface?

I was close to dying if not from my sister. I went from bitches at school to my alcoholic, addict abusing mother. Then my best friend decided he wanted stop be part of the crew that cries for me to give me another reason to live. I didn't want another one but...it feels nice. COMPLETED STORY The agony is like nothing I have ever felt before, I slide in and out of consciousness, I feel the strange sway of the two legged's walk as I am being carried through the woods, I wish to call out to my mate but I am weakened by the torments cast upon me. I have been laid down in the cold snow and my tormenter is digging in the frozen earth, I once again lose consciousness. The next time my eyes flutter open I have cold snow mixed with frozen dirt being thrown on my throbbing frame. I'm not sure what is going on. I'm freezing, hurt, and confused. I rouse to strange smells that are new to me, I'm colder than ever and something is definitely missing. I attempt to stand but immediately fall onto a fur covered ground, wait, fur... Where is my fur?!? Where did my tail go? Why do my paws look bare and have moving sticks coming out of them? Who stretched my legs out? What in tarnation happened to my fur? I guess that would explain why I'm cold. I begin to take in my surroundings, I am in a dead tree shelter but it looks completely different, there is a fire crackling near me but it does little to warm my bare skin, I'm startled by the sound of laughter, I look over and see a two legged is staring at me with a hint of humor in his eye. "You are very confused. I found you almost dead in a non descent grave. You were shot and bruised. I brought you here and made some... changes. It was the only way I could save you." Zack does not know that Huro is also a prince and knows about his secret. He's the Prince of the United Kingdom of Cats, Wolves, Demons and Vampires, son of King Demonic and King Daniel. When Zack notices that Huro is acting suspicious on afternoon after sport, he follows Huro into a forest nearby the school. It's then that he finds out that Huro is a wolf cross vampire hybrid and that he is actually the heir to the throne like him. This gives him hope that everything will change, since he's known a little secret since he was 13. However, this is just the beginning of their story together. Throughout this story, they go through obstacles big and small. Together, they slowly begin to form feelings. Is it meant to be, or will it be the thing that ruins everyone.
