"Then fucking make me understand, Giovanni!"

He looks at me and says, "I don't think I'll ever be able to even fully understand it myself, Zara. What I do know will either get you killed or worse. I cant risk that, pancake."

I sit down next to him, "I still hate that nickname. It's stupid. Promise me that one day you'll tell me."

He wraps his right arm around my shoulder and pulls me in with a chuckle, "I promise one day I will tell you everything. You do know, I came up with that nickname when I saw you at Rosie's Diner shoving your face full of pancakes with Zelena."

I laugh and hit his shoulder. That moment I realized I didn't ever want to lose Giovanni.
