The Legend of Quetzal

A short story based on the Mayan legend of the quetzal bird and how it came to be.
The legend says that the chief of the Quiche people finally had a son to become chief after him. The baby was given a prophecy on the day he was born, that would be revealed when he became a man. But the chief's brother becomes jealous, because he thought he would be chief after his brother dies.
