As a child Deku was forced to pretend to be quirkless so his father wouldn't take him. He was always known as a weak, quirkless, loser and that is what he remained until his mom died and he decided not to take their shit anymore.

Izuku Midoriya had enough from life, everyone was telling him how useless he was. His mother stopped looking at him. His best friend bullies him. He had no one who cares about him or so he thought. What's so bad about being quirkless?
Izuku Midoriya more commonly known as Deku, nerd, waste of space, and useless. Little do those with quirks understand the reality of being quirkless; how hard it is to simply survive let alone live and actually enjoy what life has to offer. Izuku hasn't had it easy in life but he at least has grown up in the real world instead of the pampered and over glorified life you gain if your given the oh so wonderful quirk. After the tragic event of losing his mother his life just spiraled further and further down the rabbit hole. I mean really; what's so bad about being quirkless?
