Roxanne (Roxy) Williams is a normal teenager. She goes to school, she has a few friends, and she goofs off a lot with said friends. But one day, a new girl comes to her school. She seems normal, but Roxy notices some strange things about her. Like how she has THE SAME NAME AS ROXY. Or how she looks similar to Roxy. Or how sometimes when the light shines on her cheek, Roxy sees something green glint there. Or how she always seems to be smiling. No. Matter. What. What more will Roxy discover about this girl? What friends will she lose or make? What will happen to her?

Would you doubt your own sanity if you were suddenly blamed for certain events that you had no idea were happening? At first, Dayna thinks everyone is playing a horrible joke on her -- blaming her for doing things she wouldn't normally even think of doing. He is also the new boy at school that has an unadulterated hatred for her. Kyle is more man than boy, who has a cynical outlook at life, and a very black and white way of looking at things. As the school term ends and she graduates, Dayna finds herself having a very interesting summer filled with planning, strategizing, and an unknown attraction towards Kyle. OC-SI Reincarnated as Roxy. Roxy wasn't always Roxy. Once, she was a broke college student who spent way too much time watching cartoons than she should have, until naturally everything went to shit and she died. Now she's a character she didn't even like that much in one of those cartoons, and she's left with a choice; she can either A, be a good little cliche fanchild and try to be as helpful to the Winx Club as possible, or B, shamelessly abuse the fact she has both foreknowledge AND highly powerful magic to make the most of her new life free from her previous burdens, doing whatever the fuck she wants for shits and giggles. She chooses option B. The year is 2040, and for the clones that were created during the brief run of a shady high tech company in the early 2020's, the time has come for them to become adults. Madelyn has been attending an all girls' boarding school with a large percentage of cloned girls for all of her academic life, and sees the changes in the girls as they approach graduation. Many of the clones were made from stolen DNA from supermodels, singers and actresses, and have almost no shot at a real future because of the sheltered way they were raised. They'd been isolated and completely dependent on the school and the families that ordered them as though they were nothing more than food on a menu. But not every clone is going down without a flight, as Madelyn finds out when she meets her new next door neighbor. This was written for the Open Novelle Contest 2023, Prompt 61: A new neighbor comes to town. Not a very social person, they hide out in their house every day, only leaving through tinted cars.
