Izuku Midoriya is different from every other mer in the sea. Born with a crocodilian lower half instead of a tail, his father and most of mer society shuns him. Only his pod brother, Katsuki, his Aunt Mitsuki, his Uncle Masaru, and his mother seem to care for him, and to 5 month old Izuku, that was enough.
However, when he is captured by humans Izuku finds that there are other mers that are different like him, although in completely different ways. With his new friends by his side and a father that cares about him, Izuku might just be ready to take on the horrors that lurk just beyond the shadows of the deep, as well as the ones that just can't seem to stay down below."
