Alex grew up in the hunting life alongside her half-brothers Sam and Dean. Despite her unusual upbringing, she loved her life, and most of all, she loved her family. If she'd had it her way, nothing would have changed.

But then Sam left for college.

Sam left, and things were different. Their whole family dynamic had changed, and slowly, so did Alex. She adapted. She became more detached and less likely to open up to her family, and so when she developed depression, she kept that to herself, too. Because that's what Winchesters did, right?
