When three ordinary lumara, Fern, Rowan and Reed, meet at an assembly, their world changes. Occultatum is slowly withering away and the chiefs are doing nothing about it, they forbid anyone to do anything about it. Occultatum has always healed by itself but this is nothing like they've seen before. Ted, a lost human, wanders into their world and he knows, he did this.

The man stooped a bit, leaning close to her and taking the seatbelt from her hands. He was holding eye contact and Lyla felt herself grow amused as she stared back at him. He was going to start buckling her up before someone cleared their throat loudly. They both looked up to meet Reeds' blue-green eyes. ''I think I can help my wife, thank you,'' he said. One would think after that small exchange they would start having some kind of conversation. The nuclear plant 15 times that of Chernobyl blew its top. The initial explosion flattened Brazil and the shockwaves were felt from the Florida keys. But the thing that truly ruined the world was the nuclear fallout. it rained down everywhere turning the world into a desolate wasteland deserts for miles and miles. Now you live in districts to survive, but what's the good in just being a number. Why would you look forward to a future of infant nothing, can you run from that? Where would you go? Where have the people who have escaped gone? Is that a future? What if there's someone who got left behind?
