Sally is tired of getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop and is determined to leave home for the second time. The first time was a disaster. Two weeks after her eighteenth birthday she jumped headfirst into the Berlin party scene, full of disco dreams and hopes for true love - but after two short years and a disastrous love affair with an abusive boyfriend, she was forced to return home with her tail between her legs. Now, at twenty-two, she has healed just enough for her to pack her bags and leave for London Town. It's no Berlin, but Sally hopes the distance from her old life will help her shake off the trauma she has clung to for so long. Full of fearful hope and all too aware of what could happen, Sally arrives in London and encounters Maya, a slow-moving, slow-talking kindred spirit. From that moment onwards Sally knows Maya is someone to be trusted and toys with the idea of becoming her friend. But as soon as vulnerabilities start to show on both sides, Sally instinctively cowers behind her old survival tactics, doing everything in her power to jeopardise their friendship. I will be posting a Chapter every week, enjoy xx Trigger Warning: This story has themes of domestic violence, drug abuse and self harm.
