Mate.
We stared at each other and I felt like a bubble built up around us. The world didn't matter, it was like we were in a completely bleached room. His eyes bore into mine, unblinking and breathtaking.
My hand moved on its own and I touched his chest, my fingers skimming over where his heart pounded in time with mine.
Heart
Then my fingers glided to his neck.
Word
and then to his temple
Thought
and finally, down his chin through the spikes of his facial hair.
All the while, our eyes connected. His cobalt color started shifting and gold pierced through. My breath left me in an audible long sound, clearing my lungs. It was at that that my head tilted slightly, and I bent my chin to my shoulder, my hand again doing what it wanted and pulling the collar away from my neck.
Suddenly pain was at my shoulder and teeth were being bit into me!

She collapses down in front of me and runs her hands along my shoulders and down my arms. I close my eyes as she lifts my shirt over my head. "I can hear your heart racing," she whispers. I roll my head back as her lips press into my throat. I'm becoming so hot that it feels like I'm in transition. I run my hands beneath her shirt and up her back, pushing her closer into my throat. "Any requests?" she says. "Be gentle with me." "Really?" I smile before I grip the ends of her shirt and I tear it in half, all the way up her spine and all the way down the middle of her torso. It makes her gasp. "No," I say. ------------ Since meeting her mysterious saviour deep in the woods, ten things started to become clear. 1) Irresistible British men didn't just exist across the world. 2) Survival was a lot more complicated than just looking for water. 3) They were bonded together in a way that didn't make sense. 4) Her life, which was filled with so much human suffering, finally had some faint glimmer of hope. 5) She should have known that humans don't sleep walk every damn night. 6) The man ate animals raw and kept a mysterious, giant wolf as a pet. 7) Hunters will never stop looking for her. 8) She doesn't care. 9) Their desires burn for each other and it's out of their control. 10) Werewolves are real. This is Devon and Thorn's story. WARNING: Mature content. Sexual assault, attempted rape and violence. There is no possessiveness or abuse in this story between the love interests. Their relationship is sweet, warm and a little bit hot.

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

I jumped to my feet and punched him in the side. There was hardly an effect. "You're weak" he spat, walking a step closer towards me. I growled as I had had it with this blood sucking devil! My blue eyes fumed in anger as my wolf was released. I am a white wolf. Liam's eyes bulged as he saw my true form. He then smiled ready to fight. I lunged for the bastard, knocking him to the ground. His other minions rushed towards me all attaching me at once. I attempted to fight against them. They kept coming on me and it was becoming too much for me to handle. My fur had gone from a snowy white, to a bloody reddish color. So much blood. I laid down. Maybe just a minute of rest. I saw Liam walk up to me. He looked down at me and smiled. "What's wrong little wolf? No more energy?" He smirked. Then Liam was suddenly thrown to the damp ground by something, a jet black wolf with glowing red eyes. He was beautiful with his gleaming coat and strong legs. The black wolf left Liam on the ground and fiercely killed all of Liam's minions easily. He wasn't finished with his prowl, he turned back to face Liam but realized that the pureblooded vampire had already run off. Then I hear a deep growl. "Mate", and my heart stops. ------------ Alexandra's pack is mercilessly destroyed by werewolves most hated species: vampires. The species has hated each other since the beginning of time. When Josephine returned to her home town after the death of her parents she was prepared to take a job at the local hospital. She wasn't prepared to run head first into her werewolf mate. She spent her entire childhood as the wolfless daughter of an Alpha who thought his own Luna was weak for not having a wolf. He sacrificed his pack and the legacy of his bloodline to ensure power for himself. Now, it's up to Josephine and her Alpha, August, to save their entire pack, but they aren't prepared for the war they just joined. "Mr. August Hayes was responsible for the cinnamon rolls and the smell of fall spices. If it wasn't his intense body language or the burning gaze staring into my soul giving it away, it would have been those electric blue eyes. The same ones that stole my sleep. I gulped. Why me? I squirmed uncomfortably in front of the panel as Dr. Grace led me to my chair. She was eyeballing me with a look that told me I had to pull it together. I sat down and quickly crossed my legs, trying to make myself smaller. Nurse Kasey was smirking at me, giving me a knowing look. Great, another one. I sighed through my mouth, careful not to inhale anymore of his scent. I had to get it together. I couldn't be the doctor from New York City who strolled into Little Compton hospital and made herself look like a complete idiot. I plastered on a smile."
