"Why?" My ears were still ringing from the powerful slam against the wall as my door was slammed open. "I'm sure your mom already told you." My voice was low, the words barely wanting to escape my lips. The weight of the blanket kept me warm and stuck in the middle of the bed. My heart picked up a few extra beats as his thundering steps came to stand in front of me. "So at every little sigh of bad news, you're going to give up?" I felt harsh hands grip my chin and force my head up. I had a sudden lump in my throat when I saw the anger in his large eyes. "You're pathetic." Pathetic. His eyes seemed to glow as if the flood gates finally released and he let the truth out. "I bet you wished I never found you!" He laughed in vain, "Well, it would've been easier for everyone if you'd died before I got there." His words echoed on and on inside my head. The grip on my chin loosened when he saw the tears form in my eyes. If I was stupid, I would've maybe considered that he regretted it. But he never took it back. Because it's true. I swallowed the shame and my nose flared as I hid the tears into anger. "I'm sorry not all of this ended in happy rainbows and roses for you," I gathered all of my strength and shoved him away from me before forcibly marching and opening my bedroom door. "Wait, Lily-" "Go! No one is stopping you. Go take the internship and live your life however you want. Don't let me hold you back anymore." I sniffed hard and gripped the doorframe for support. I saw him clench his fists before he flew down the stairs. "If you wish a little harder, maybe you can get your wish sooner than five years!" _______________ Lilith Morana, known for her reckless and chaotic behavior, is unwillingly thrown back in the traumatizing world of the supernatural. Though Lilith has been around these creatures before, she may not react very calmly at the encounters as she has no memory of her previous history thanks to the family that took her in.

Slowly she began reaching her hand towards the animal, feeling compelled to touch it. Would it be as soft as it looked? Did it want her to touch it? The rain continued pelting them, but it felt like its eyes were drawing her into another space, where nothing else mattered. The sudden desire to be closer to this animal was beginning to overtake her mind, especially as her hand neared its head. The whole time the animal only watched her with those large eyes. She imagined it almost asking for her touch. It didn't cross her mind how she knew he'd be soft, or how she even knew the creature was a 'he' to begin with. As her finger just barely grazed the animal, multiples things happened. She felt something shock her causing her to pull her hand back, just as thunder and lightning sounded. When the light cleared the animals' eyes, were narrowed into slits, and it was growling. It was a deep menacing sound that sent her stumbling backward, heart wildly beating. It bared fangs the size of her hand alone dipping its head. Had her touch angered the animal into finally attacking her? She kept moving backward in the rain, slipping in her converses as the creature continued growling. It was then she knew she was prepared to run, no matter what happened.
