Caspian Hart Delmare - just Hart for short - is a merman that's never cared about following the rules of his people. But one day, he breaks the most cardinal rule: he talks to a human.

Not just any human, though. He finally works up the courage to talk to the mysterious human girl that keeps showing up at the dock - where Hart spends most of his time - every day at dusk, without fail.

The girl, Talia Mason, soon discovers that Hart isn't human, but will she keep his secret? Or run and tell her marine biologist father about her revolutionary "discovery?"

"Marek, don't do this. Keep your captainship. I'll tell the truth about what happened and we'll both be out of the deal." "But-" "I don't know what your doing, if you think this is going to win you attention or sympathy. Or maybe you are being a noble prat and doing as 'you should'. Plus, I don't mean anything to you. Never have, never will. So please, please, stop acting like I'm special. " "But you are." And then his voice cracked, and I cracked with it. ------------------------ She's sick of his arrogant ways, and the bragging. With her goal being to slap some sense into him, she makes a deal; they act like a couple in every sense of the word and the first one to fall in love? Loses. It's only when she realises he may not be such a terrible man after all that she doubts her ability to win. But what if the one thing she put on the line is the one thing she would die trying to protect? Will she allow a relationship to blossom under pressure from her past? **Disclaimer** The drawing in the cover isn't mine (but it was so pretty I used it anyway).
