EDIT: Ok, ok time for some truth: I love terrible writing. Sometimes. And only if it's really good. Good like, so bad it's good. A few years ago, one of my best friends sent me a copy of a story he found called "The InterGalactic War!" It was the best of the worst. Then I stumbled upon the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest and fell in love. This series of short stories is my contribution to the genre. Enjoy. Best read one or two beers in, out loud, with a group of friends. And please do all the voices. Dr. Max Jaxon is awesome, better than the other second rate archaeologists that have adventures and find sweet treasures and get babes. #1 in #Lasers! Best laser book! Congrats!! By R. J. Fox

Our previous two SmackDowns were both massive successes, and it's high time for another. You might remember the last one was heavy on the "game" elements, maybe even too heavy. This time we're going back to the basics and keeping it simple. It's just a motherfuckin' sci-fi SmackDown: a heated writing contest where contestants are given text-, music- and visual-based prompts, and then they need to write a short story around that, following which they're judged for their efforts and either move on to the next round or they get eliminated from the competition. But there's gotta be some kind of twist, right? For this one we're waxing nostalgic, we're looking back into our past. We're going back to our roots.
