It's not often a carnival comes to the town of Deadwood. But when it does, Charity and her friends make the most of it. Until one particular carnival turns out to be everything other than fun. As the group of friends find themselves in ever increasingly horrific situations, they must try to discover who is behind it all, and manage to escape the carnival with their lives. As their families pasts catch up with them, terrifying secrets from centuries ago are revealed, but will they be able to get past it all and continue working together to escape, or split up and face the terrors alone?

When it comes to the apocalypse, everybody wants to be a hero. Everybody thinks they'd be a zombie slaying master, a fearless and kind leader, or the scientist genius that can cure it all. But not everybody. Derrick Volkov is a man just trying to outrun his past. His job was never easy, but surviving the apocalypse? He regrets not killing himself right off the bat. Cassidy Liu and Peter Wilkinson are half siblings. Taking care of her neurodivergent younger brother is hard for an awkward and angsty teenager such as Cassidy, but once she finds out Peter is immune, she needs to do everything in her power and beyond to protect him. A chance encounter between these three could really change things in their lives. Perhaps it's fate, it could be luck, it could be some kind of divine punishment. Whatever it is, they can't die. If they die, any hope for a better future dies with them.
