In the year 2140 humans have adapted to have what are known as second genders. Children in middle school are tested to find out what their second gender is. A person's second gender can either be, alpha, beta, or omega. Alphas are known as the elites of society and are generally leaders. Betas are the working class. Omegas however are the gems of society for they are the only ones that can have children regardless of their natural gender they are timid by nature and tend to be weaker than others. Once tested children have the rest of their school life to learn and understand their second gender but when adulthood arrives they are expected to take a mate. Alphas typically mate with omegas and betas mate with other betas.

In recent years the numbers of omegas have plummeted drastically making the once already rare gender nearly impossible to come across. With the number of omegas, low alphas are forced to mate with betas. But without an omega mate, an alpha struggles to fight their natural instincts.

Nico Blain is one of very few omegas living in society. He fights every day to hide his second gender in order to protect himself from the harshness of the world. But what happens when Nico gets a job working for a dashing young alpha. Will Nico be able to hide who he truly is? Or will everything come to light exposing him to the dangers of being an omega?
