Graphic Wattys 2020
The Guild is hosting the Graphic Wattys again this year! Tag your book with #GraphicWattys2020 and head inside for more information on how to enter. Welcome to the Graphic Wattys! Every year, summer is a time where writers enter their stories into the Wattys (or furiously get in those last few thousand words...), but there still isn't a category for designers. With that in mind, we present the Graphic Wattys, filled with parrots, joy, and honour! Disclaimer: The Graphic Wattys and the Guild are not in any way affiliated with Wattpad or the official Wattys.Complete
Book of Contests (2024)
To keep myself from losing track of: all the contests I've entered, all the contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be voluntold into judging), all the books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the deadlines, and all the other important stuff, I've decided to create a book that registers all these things in a somewhat organized fashion. I can't remember who advised me to do that, but whoever you are, and there are probably several of you, thank you. I've been reading that it's extremely common for contests to be a bit sluggish with follow-up if a person wins a major prize and gets graphics and shout-outs, so I'll use this book to keep track of that, too. I had no idea so many people would be adding my personal convenience book to their own bookshelves, let alone voting for chapters - if my book of contests is useful to other people, that makes me happy. Very happy. However, I feel I must reiterate that although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." This was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. I'm just a ditz who needs a written log to keep track of everything. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders. Charles King, Lonely hope, part 1.
Once my mum held unrivaled fame and power as a guild member, commanding respect across the world. Then, unexpectedly, my parents left London for the tranquil beauty of the Lake District. Now, on the cusp of my 13th birthday, we are returning to London, to the heart of my parents' former guild. This means I will attend the prestigious school they once graced. But beyond this, I am on the brink of a pivotal event - a Reveal Day. At 13, we undergo a ceremony where our elemental magic is unveiled, determining our destiny, education, and path in life. Yet, life in the countryside is no idyllic retreat. It harbors peril, with monstrous creatures and dangerous animals lurking, some with bounties on their heads, requiring the intervention of guilds to eliminate them. P.s I asked the A. to create my book cover how cool does that look 😁Complete
