Lyra Black was born years after the final battle with the dark wizard, lord Voldemort. While her family are purebloods who distanced themselves from her extended family the name was cursed. She is the granddaughter of Alphard Black, her mother being his only child. Even after being burned from the Black tapestry her family could not rid themselves of the cursed name. Lyra knew the history and the people behind the fear but even her absolute separation and innocents from the family wouldn't change the bias the Wizarding World had towards the name. Rumors flooded about the family especially because of how Lyra looked but she never let it get to her. It was because of the allegations that Lyra was kept very hidden from the magical world as her mother and her would be shunned from it. But on her 11th birthday she was beyond thrilled to receive a letter from Hogwarts which was a chance to finally get to know the world she was born into. Little did she know that her time at hogwarts would not be the mundane but the extraordinary. Not only would she prove herself to be a powerful witch but her relationship with James Sirius Potter seemed to continually progress towards something unexpected. Her destiny was not written in stone and something was mounting to descend on the Wizarding world that may change it forever. She didn't know what to expect when she moved there, but she really didn't expect to find shapeshifters and vampires close to where she lived. Like her nephew, Emily became friends with Weasleys, but her Weasley friends were Bill and Charlie. When Emily was of age, she still hadn't heard much of her nephew. Remus didn't even tell her that he was still alive until she was almost fifteen. She missed the boy, though she had only really known him for a year before James and Lily were gone. Emily wanted Harry taken in to her care once she was of age, but Dumbledore would not allow it. He believed Harry was safe with the Dursley family. So, Emily left to Romania with Charlie, but not for the same reason as Charlie. While Emily lived in Romania with Charlie, she did not follow the same career path. Charlie worked with dragons, and Emily decided to be a babysitter for wizards and witches. The money was great, which made her wonder why Dumbledore believed she was incompetent of raising Harry. She wanted him to have the best, but she'd never be able to see him. When she does finally meet him once again, not everything is going to be all sunshine and rainbows...
