Lyra Black was born years after the final battle with the dark wizard, lord Voldemort. While her family are purebloods who distanced themselves from her extended family the name was cursed. She is the granddaughter of Alphard Black, her mother being his only child. Even after being burned from the Black tapestry her family could not rid themselves of the cursed name. Lyra knew the history and the people behind the fear but even her absolute separation and innocents from the family wouldn't change the bias the Wizarding World had towards the name. Rumors flooded about the family especially because of how Lyra looked but she never let it get to her. It was because of the allegations that Lyra was kept very hidden from the magical world as her mother and her would be shunned from it. But on her 11th birthday she was beyond thrilled to receive a letter from Hogwarts which was a chance to finally get to know the world she was born into. Little did she know that her time at hogwarts would not be the mundane but the extraordinary. Not only would she prove herself to be a powerful witch but her relationship with James Sirius Potter seemed to continually progress towards something unexpected.
