For starters, it was full of lies. People were obsessed with preaching equality among mankind, but not all men were created equal and you certainly couldn't pretend that they were. She'd learned that at 2, and then again at 3, and then thrice at 4, and the cycle went on and on until she turned 14, where she was once again reminded of the wretched truth. She and her brother were not created equal, and they never would be.
