You've been on the run from your abusive (?) family for four years now. you're 14. You wanted to become a trainer, and someday, a master, but your parents never cared. they always favorited your brother. your parents never cared about your dream.
You started out in the Kanto region, and your starter was Charmaner, who has now evolved into Charizard after these four years. Your Charizard is the only friend you could trust, for so long. You haven't been able to trust any "friends" you've met because you're afraid they'll just leave you, like your parents did. You weren't always like this. this, cold, distant, and depressed.

Ash has just lost in the Indigo League, due to his Charizard's disobedience. As he and Pikachu are thinking things over by a lake, they are sure in for a nasty surprise. Betrayal. That's what, out of all possible scenarios, Ash never imagined that his own friends and family would betray and even try and kill him. Now though, Ash must rise above this and prove the traitors wrong, starting with redemption. He heads over to the Orange Islands for sanctuary and to start a new journey, a new start was just what he needed, with new friends, new Pokemon, and mysteries surrounding the Pokemon world. But at the end of it all, the true adventure has only just begun... Warning: Foul Language, minor Adult topics, mentions of blood and gore. Not recommended for young children. After winning the Kalos League and keeping their promise, Ash and Serena continue their journey together. From new regions, to new Pokemon, to new battles and new experiences. Whatever lies ahead, they don't know, but they will face it together. This is a sequel to my Our Promise one-shot (which you can read if you'd like for some extra exposition but it's not required). I kept looking over it and I saw more potential in it, but instead of going back to that story, I decided to keep it a one-shot and make the sequel a multi-chapter story. I don't know how many chapters I'll write, but I'll try to make it long enough to be considered a good read.
