Childish War

Thrust into a simulated war at adolescence, Mara and her siblings spend their days fighting to the death. Mara does all she can to survive the chaos by becoming a "Night Owl" - that is, a participant who is both nocturnal and a loner. Her strategy backfires once she unwittingly joins her older brother, Pike, on a crusade to unite all of the family's Night Owls. Mara, who has always been on the defensive, is now forced to confront the war she's always been fighting head on, as well as the questions surrounding what she's fighting for in the first place.

A/N: This is a story I began about three years ago. The beginning is a bit crude, but the writing improves drastically as the chapters go on. I promise to edit the first few chapters eventually. Thanks for reading!
