Rosy has gifts she shouldn't and they can't be explained. When her father discovers her abnormalities he kills her mother and attempts to kill her. She survived thanks to Dr Phil Roberts who discovered her near to death.
He adopts her and introduces her to the academy. She is scared to tell Phil all about her abilities in fear he will reject her.
The academy try to force her to join a team and as a comprise she agrees a trial run with a team threatening to split. They are antagonistic towards her. Accusations fly and they are determined to scare her away but all she wants to do is hold on. Should she let them push her away or fight for them risking that they learn her secrets.
Finding a new family may just bring the happiness she craves or will opening her heart be her own downfall.
The Academy idea goes to CL stones books together with some characters.
