After dealing with the loss of his brother, Vic is spiraling. He blames himself for his brother's death, and honestly, who wouldn't? But he's a warlock who goes to a sorcery school for teenagers like him. So necromancy seems like the obvious solution, right?

Vic ends up in a situation he didn't plan to be in, as his world is turned upside down. The God that provides for them and fuels their power doesn't seem so kind anymore. And worst, or best of all, there's a strange dark-haired boy full of mysteries that can't seem to keep away.

He's truly a kind and generous Head Mage! He's not sure why said teacher seems so upset with him... Okay, so maybe he assigns other duties to the child as well. But that was between the two of them. Crewel isn't in agreement. The year ahead for those at this college is set to be hectic and chaotic, what with several plots, rivalries, and insecurities coming to a head. During his travels he encounters horrible injury, magical treasures, love, snow, university admissions tests, a plot against the Kingdom, and then of course he saves the world. Or does he?
