Kato Sora is a normal middle school aged girl until one day, she encounters a small fairy creature named Skyla. Skyla is currently on the run from members of an evil group called Pollution who have just destroyed the Nature Kingdom. When Pollution member Tornado confronts Sora and Skyla trying to take the remaining Nature Key, Sora is given the power to transform into the legendary Precure, Cure Lightning! With Tomoe Emiri, who joins her as Cure Ginger, the two of them will do everything they can to revive the Nature Kingdom and prevent their world from being destroyed.
