With middle age becoming more of a reality and his body giving out, Peter Parker feels the desire to leave his wall-crawling days behind him. However, when he finds a teenager who has been bitten by a modified spider, he decides to train him so he can wear the mask and join the ranks of new protectors of the universe.

At the same time, Parker reminisces about his past, starting from his days as a rookie hero and going all the way through jobs, adult life, and clashes with entities from all over the universe (as well as other dimensions).
